Karen recently made a trip through Peru. Part of this was a trip through the Colca Canyon and the ‘trek of trekking’ to Machu Picchu.
Breathtaking Bolivia, land of extremes, of superlatives
For example, there is the highest city in the world as well as the highest watering lake, the largest salt flat, the highest ski area and also the most dangerous road on earth. It’s great to return to this fascinating destination after years; It was way too long ago.
“COSTA RICA – YOU ARE IN HEAVEN”
Costa Rica has been on my bucket list of countries I want to visit for some time. Jungle, many endemic birds, swimming with dolphins, a pristine green oasis in Central America. Only the last days of my trip i get a good picture of Costa Rica, PURA VIDA. I wrote this blog at the very last minute.
Bogota and Cartagena
At the invitation of KLM, TravMagazine and ProColombia I made a short trip to Colombia. With the intention of getting acquainted with Colombia and with 13 other directors of travel companies to “brainstorm” about Colombia as a future tourist destination. In the space of a few days we visited capital Bogota and Cartagena, one of the most beautiful cities in Latin America.
“You aint seen nothing yet”
“Peru, a country with a thousand faces, a zest for life for the Burgundian, full of beautiful cities with history.”
Jozef Verbruggen describes his journey through the land of the Incas. An absolute top destination. The diversity of the country seems almost limitless in terms of nature, culture, landscapes and peoples.
Study trip Brazil
Untamed Travelling organised a study trip for a select group of travel advisors along brazil’s most beautiful:
“Shaking buttocks, overripe fruit, the most beautiful beaches in the world and other tropical surprises…”
“Gauchos, penguins, pampas and desert”
The record of a journey through the rugged and endless wilderness of Chile and Argentina
“My adventure starts in Santiago de Chile, after a long 14-hour flight with Iberia from Madrid. A direct flight, short pain. Shortly after noon the last route to Calama in the Atacama Desert…”
Mexican cuisine
Mexican cuisine and in particular that of Indian Oaxaca is world famous and declared a UNESCO heritage site. Corn (in tortillas or atole) is still important (Indian) folk food and “the ear pong of life” throughout the country. For the exquisite maistruffels, huitlacoche every Mexican from rich to poor likes to make a detour!
With wonder I have been watching what is sold and prepared. The many types of chili peppers on the market and the convenience where small children also eat them. The most delicious oysters from the trunk of a car on a secluded harbour or the fried chilli locusts of the street hawker. Food is definitely an adventure in Mexico! Discover for yourself the local markets with Indian cuisine goddesses and learn more of the complex traditional cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere in Oaxaca. For example, learn to prepare a real Mole!
