On arrival in Marrakesh we were met by Adil. Together with a driver he took us to the heart of Marrakesh where we stayed in the beautiful Palais El Khum. The next day we explored Marrakesh on our own. A magical city full of contrasts.
Then followed a self-drive route to Skoura. Adil, who by the way was at our disposal 24 hours a day for our stay in Marrakesh, accompanied us to the parking lot where our car was waiting. The roads to the south are in very good condition so driving yourself was no problem. It was a ride through a beautiful landscape.
In Skoura we stayed at Ksar El Kabbaba. The people were already waiting for us on arrival and we were also welcomed there with tea and biscuits. Kasbah El Kasar is a super nice place to stay. We enjoyed it. The food was also tasty and well presented.
From Skoura we made a guided trip to the Rose Valley, through the Dades Valley to the Todgha Gorge. We were met at the hotel by our guide and driver. We spent a wonderful and instructive day with them. On that day we were called by Fatima, who took on the same task as Adil in Marrakesh. She checked whether we were having a good time and was also available day and night. What a service!
The next day we continued with our car to Zagora where we were picked up by a driver who took us to the Azalai Dessert Lodge. After an unforgettable two-hour drive through the desert, we arrived at our lodging place. Simply put: GREAT! We were the only guests there at the time and were pampered by the staff. An experience to never forget.
On the drive back from the desert to Zagora, we paid a visit to an ancient Kasbah.
Then we drove on to beautiful Aït Ben Haddou where we stayed in the Kasbah Titrit. Although at first we had the impression that the hotel was a bit deserted, we were again very well received and given a beautiful room. Too bad the jacuzzi on the roof was broken at the time.
After Aït Ben Haddou we drove back to Marrakesh city, back to Palais Khum to conclude our trip.
The day of departure Adil accompanied us to and also in the airport.
