"Many thanks for the organization, everything ran like clockwork"

Eric and Anniek

Ecuador and Galapagos, Peru
Klantervaring Eric en Anniek,

In September 2024, Eric and Anniek took a dream tour of Peru and Ecuador. For two and a half weeks, they traveled from Quito to nature paradise Galapagos and went back to Inca times while staying in the Sacred Valley. Then they visited iconic Machu Picchu and Inca capital Cuzco. The icing on the cake was the Andean Explorer train ride through Peru's stunning landscapes. A journey never to be forgotten!

Dear Untamed Traveling employees,

We had an unforgettable trip to Peru and the Galapagos Islands had! Hereby we would like to share our experiences with you. Actually, everything went fine and according to plan. Partly because of that it was a real vacation, everything was well arranged and generally correct. (Almost) everywhere the guides and drivers were on time, beautiful hotels and we saw a lot of beautiful things. We were also lucky with the weather! We had a hotel like a palace on the square in Quito, where we had a beautiful city tour with visits to churches, squares, a chocolate factory and very nice museum, all accompanied by guide Maria Delia who told us many interesting things. After a fine flight we arrived in Galapagos where we enjoyed a beautiful hotel and went on two adventures by boat and once on the island. It was nice to eat outside the hotel a few times as well, fortunately there was plenty of opportunity for that within walking distance. The train ride to Machu Picchu was very comfortable. We had a great tour of Machu Picchu guided by a nice man who knew how to tell us a lot. The visit to Machu Picchu was a little shorter than we expected (is one-way walking around, so "with the mob"), we were a little lucky that early in the morning it was not yet very crowded. After some fog at first, later we had beautiful sunny weather; it was an almost mystical experience. The train ride on the Belmond Train Andean Explorer was truly a special experience. The train itself is very luxurious, dining car with neatly set tables, very good food, all kinds of drinks, appetizers and so on; everything included. The beds and sleeping car were fine and there was a remarkable amount of staff on the train. Surprisingly, we stopped several times along the way to see an ancient temple, petroglyphs but also the sunset and starry skies; very nice. Also nice that the train stopped at night and only started running again in the morning, slept a little better anyway. The trip to Lake Titicaca is special, as are the Urose Islands, and lunch at Taquile was well taken care of. After two and a half days of trains we arrived in Arequipa and were taken to our special hotel. Very nondescript on the outside but very beautiful and attractive on the inside. A hall of a room with a bathtub in the middle of the room (unfortunately we had too little time to use it). The next day in Arequipa again we took a nice city tour, the guide knew a lot, could tell about it well and had all the time, so we strolled through this nice city there from eight to one thirty and saw all kinds of interesting things, really very nice. The next day we got up early for a city tour of Lima with, as it turned out, a different guide (but this guy knew a lot, was really fun and educational). He could also tell us a lot in the Larco museum, all very interesting.

We had jointly decided that in the morning we would already take the luggage in the car to avoid lengthy driving back and forth to the hotel, which turned out to be very convenient because it allowed us more time in the museum. In the end we spent only a very short time in our hotel. Hotel B was beautifully decorated with art and paintings, but we arrived late at night and left early in the morning, so we had little use for it. Right on time at the airport in Lima and also a smooth flight back to Amsterdam, very satisfied after a fantastic trip! Thank you very much for the organization, it all went very smoothly. Thanks again for guiding us on our trip. Kind regards Eric and Anniek
