Hi Joseph,
Hi Gret,
We are now a few days back from another unforgettable holiday in Africa. The trip was again flawlessly organized for which our sincere thanks.
The overall impression was fantastic, with a clear bias towards the Zimbabwe part. We turn out to be 'die hard fans' of safari.
The villa is simply BREATHTAKING! No jet set situations, a fantastic kitchen (best ever had), friendly staff and respectful without being submissive. Jephat and Difficult are the best guides we have ever had. They really have a thorough knowledge of fauna and flora in the broadest sense. Our children are quite curious and no question was left unanswered. Especially Jephat's knowledge of and love for elephants (and eagles) is simply phenomenal! Perhaps it would be nice to go over and explain all possible activities shortly after arrival. There is a nice clear brochure available in the room, but I only saw it afterwards. In hindsight, I would certainly have liked to have seen more of the functioning of the trust. It has been discussed for a while, but perhaps it could be highlighted a little more. Well, maybe we just didn't have enough time to do everything and I was tempted by the game drives. In any case, the operation of such a trust is a realistic addition to contemporary African problems on a 'far-from-the-world safari experience'.
A beautiful idyllic location on a 'Bounty' island with fine cuisine, no 'club entertainment' and fun activities, although there is a lot more potential for water activities such as sailing, surfing or expert game drives. Ultimately, this is a nature reserve that has a lot to offer in terms of fauna and flora, such as whale & dolphin watching, dugong and birding.
Perhaps it would be nice to have the opportunity to get a slightly more 'realistic' and authentic picture of Mozambique by offering an excursion/tour on the mainland with, for example, a visit to a local market, school, hospital, ... a matter of to break free from the surreal island experience.
With best regards,
