Hello team Untamed,
We had a wonderful trip to Sri Lanka.
Our approach was not to move every day but also to be able to see and explore the area from one place for longer.
Upon arrival we were welcomed by a wonderful guide. After the night flight we had two wonderful rest days in Negombo. On rest days without a program, the guide always came up with great ideas, which still allowed us to see and do a lot extra, for example the vegetable transfer in Dambulla, the village safari in Anuradhapura where we were all alone in a remote corner of the park with a herd of elephants coming very close to the jeep, and the Ayurveda spa. He gave us a taste of the local food, mostly along the way, the culture, not to mention the beautiful nature. He had a good sense of what we liked and adjusted the program accordingly.
We spent three days at Arangala Forest Lodge: beautiful bungalows in nature. But very remote and dependent on the guide to get anywhere. But even here he came up with fun excursions. The walk through the village of Naula alone was a treat. And there was a Sri-Lankan traditional wedding at the hotel and the guide had arranged for us to attend. We really liked the two days Mahoora Campsite near Yala National Parc and it was a nice ending to our vacation.
Untamed's service was excellent (boarding passes for the return trip were mailed the night before departure, for example, very nice!).
