Dear,
The trip to Canada was incredible. One of the most beautiful experiences so far. We had used your itinerary as a base to come up with a fairly full program of our own. The Hotels/lodges were super. The Black Rock Oceanfront resort was beautiful. To top it off here you should be able to stay in one of the rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the ocean. The Knight Inlet Lodge was also definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Johnston Canyon was a real one to recommend. Do leave early in the day and drive along the bow valey park way (which is still open then). Here we saw our first black bear right away. At Moraine Lake we rented a canoe and the trip was unimaginably beautiful. After this we took a beautiful walk around Emerald Lake after which we rented a canoe again. For this you have to be early at the parking lot, because there is not too much space.
We stopped at Natural Bridge and the wonderful Peyto Lake. After a visit to Sunwapta Falls followed by a hike we set sail for Jasper where we took the skytram, admired Malinge Canyon and took a cruise on Maligne Lake, highly recommended. One does need to book this well in advance. After an adrenaline-fueled rafting adventure, we left Jasper behind and visited Athabasca Falls. We went horseback riding in Wellsgray and watched the water crash down at Helmcken Falls.
From Whistler we took an unforgettable helicopter ride, from Ucluelet we went whale watching and orca spotting, and at Long Beach we took surfing lessons.
All in all thanks again for the good care possibly see you soon.
Regards,
Koen, Hilde and Jef
