Dear team at Untamed Travelling,
We have great memories of this relaxing trip for us (luxury of our own driver/guide). We are very positive about Djoudj, which is an incredibly beautiful water area with many birds. We saw several species of kingfishers, egrets, fish and sea eagles, snake-necked birds, pelicans (about 4,000) and much more. We were very lucky that we were on a boat with few other travelers and there was a guide from the park who was perfect for spotting birds.
The villages in the southeast have also been a highlight because of the friendly people. How nice that mass tourism has not yet penetrated here. People here still wanted to have their picture taken or have a chat. That was less in the west of the country. The visit to Ile de Goree was impressive, in the slave house you felt the drama that took place here in the past.
With kind regards,
Milan Jansen and Ingrid Vlaar
