The trip was amazing in one word, perfectly prepared from Schiphol to the destination! The reception at the airports was also of great class, everyone was very helpful and very nice!
The lodges were beautiful. Nice one with nature and a great reception by the general managers and other staff. The rangers were equally great and very informative about the areas and animals.
Of the three lodges where I've been to Chitabe Camp, Vumbura Plains Camp and Duma Tau Camp I most enjoyed Vumbura Plains Camp in terms of area. Especially the space in and around the camp was breathtakingly beautiful. Also especially for shooting it was a fantastic area. The only minus I found myself was that the cosiness in the reception area and dining area was lacking compared to the other two lodges. Dining and having breakfast at separate tables is a little more unsociable especially if you are travelling alone. The rooms, on the other hand, were stunningly beautiful, stunning views with every afternoon the elephants visiting the terrace.
Chitabe Camp and Duma Tau Camp were great in terms of hospitality and immediately gave you the family feeling on arrival. The lodges/tents there were also beautifully and efficiently decorated.
Duma Tau is a trickier area for someone who really goes for shooting, because it is very wooded and has less open spaces to follow the animals for example during hunting!
Also the connecting flights to the various lodges were perfectly arranged and organized. The reception in Maun (at botswana airport, ed.) was perfect and very customer-friendly from which the big airlines can learn a lot.
All in all a great organized trip in a country I definitely want to go back to!
