Special kingdom Oudjilla
The winding road to Oudjilla takes you through a beautiful landscape with many sarés (collection of huts with thatched roofs surrounded by stones or mud walls). In this picturesque village, 800 meters high in the mountains near Mora, lives the chief of the Podoko. A visit to his palace takes you literally and figuratively back to the Stone Age. The sultan has many children and several wives. The women all live in the palace where they each have their own department. Under the guidance of a guide - a member of the court - you can walk around and photograph. Those who have succeeded can meet the Islamic king in person and shake hands.
