Multi-day treks in Simien
The Simien Mountains are located in northern Ethiopia and have peaks up to 4000 meters altitude. At 4624 metres, Ras Dashen Terara is the highest point in the country and the fourth highest mountain in Africa. The summit is climbed and the park offers ideal opportunities for hill walkers and nature lovers. They find in this massively large rock plateaus bisected by rivers - which over a length of thirty-five kilometers ravines of sometimes fifteen hundred meters deep - , an afro-alpine landscape and special inhabitants like Lammergieren, Gelada baboons, Ethiopian wolves and the Walia Capricorn. The last three you won't find anywhere else on earth. Due to its unique flora and fauna, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
