Maputo and beaches
To the south of Maputo lies the lively port city of Maputo. The city suffered a lot from the civil wars but in the late years has regained its old beauty and shine. Just in front of the city is the Inhaca island which is well worth a visit. To the south of the city is the Tembe Elephant park. When you cross the park to the south you will find the most beautiful beaches and accommodations for a delicious end after your safari. The beaches at Ponta Mamoli are a popular spot for snorkelers and divers. You can also reach the area from South Africa. Many accommodations offer the opportunity to pick you up at Kosi bay.
