Brandberg and White Lady in Damaraland
When you go inland from Cape Cross, you will pass the Brandberg, with the famous rock drawing 'White Lady'. More than 40,000 petroglyphs have been found in Brandberg and the surrounding area. The petroglyphs are all many thousands of years old. You'll drive through Damaraland, characterized by a vast and unspoilt wilderness with mountains in the background, bizarre rock formations and prehistoric petroglyphs. Due to the harsh and dry conditions, flora and fauna have had to adapt to maintain. Plants stay alive through the fog of the ocean and the relatively rare desert elephant has extra long legs and a longer trunk. The unique flora and fauna make this region unearthly and extraordinary.
