Chocolate Islands
Although they form the smallest country in Africa with four other islands, Sao Tome and Principe have many nicknames. For example, 'Islands of the Middle of the World' refers to their location on the equator and 'Chocolate Islands' refers to the cocoa production that was once the largest in the world. The volcanic islands have a lot to offer visitors: paradise palm beaches, a blue-green sea with crystal clear water and a rich marine life, virgin jungles full of native plants and animals, a volcano that can be climbed over two thousand meters high and plantations where cocoa, coffee, vanilla, grow bananas and other fruits. Despite this, the friendly residents rarely see tourists. That explains the nickname 'Forgotten Islands'.
