Praslin Island
Less mountainous than Mahé and therefore blessed with a paradisiacal flora. The island is so special that it was once thought that this was the real Garden of Eden. The many palm trees explain why Praslin used to be called Palm Island. In the Vallée de Mai national park you will find a species of palm that does not grow anywhere else in the world: the Coco-de-Mer with its sensual fruits similar to a female basin. They have become the symbol of the island. This unesco world heritage site has other rare inhabitants: black parrots. The park is the dream of every hiker and nature lover. The rest of the island is easily explored by rental car thanks to its paved roads.
