Small-scale luxury safari lodge
Madikwe Game Reserve is a malaria-free game reserve of stature bordering Botswana, about an hour's flight or five-hour drive from Johannesburg. It is South Africa's first private game reserve and there are excellent accommodations, including the luxurious Jamala Madikwe. You will stay in one of five spacious villas overlooking the savannah and Jamala's private waterhole. You will lack nothing, including a lounge with fireplace in each villa, as well as a walk-in dressing room, outdoor shower and private pool. Personal service and privacy are paramount.

The safaris are of good quality: a lot of game lives in Madikwe Game Reserve and there are relatively few visitors in the park, as the park is only accessible to guests of the lodges. This provides a special experience, as you can search for the Big Five in peace and quiet.
