Small-scale lodge in Selous Game Reserve
Sand River Selous is located to the north of the impressive Selous Game Reserve,on the banks of the Rufiji River. Luxury in a natural environment. A lodge surrounded by mahogany trees and tamarind trees that are not only beautiful to see, but also give plenty of shade. From the rocks, on which the lodge is located, you have spectacular views of the sandbanks and the bay. The favorite place of the hippos, elephants and buffalo to quench their thirst. The small-scale lodge features five rooms, two suites and the luxury rhino house villa with its own swimming pool, separate dining area, and a 4x4 vehicle with its own private guide. Because of its sheltered location, this villa offers extra privacy. The suites are a bit more luxurious than the standard rooms. The lounge area, a plunge pool and the slightly roomier bedroom offer plenty of opportunity to relax and see the nature around you. From your en-suite bathroom you even have views of the crocodiles and hippos. The natural materials, lots of wood and white natural stone, with which the lodge is built and decorated contribute to this 'wildlife' experience.
An unforgettable walking safari
From the lodge, you can take spectacular walking safaris through little-visited parts of the park, sail across the Rufiji River or quietly eject your rod from one of the rocks and hope you catch some. The park is home to lions, elephants, monkeys, pens and crocodiles. And after a day of adventure where you've spotted crocodiles, lions, hippos, monkeys and elephants, you can relax in the pool, in the shade of a 1,500-year-old Baobab tree.
