Zebra and wildebeest migration in Serengeti
The Serengeti in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya are known worldwide for the annual migration, also called large migration. During the migration, thousands of wildebeest and zebras trek across the vast plains in search of juicy grasslands. A unique and impressive natural spectacle! The nearly 1,000-kilometre journey begins in February in the south of the Serengeti. Thousands of young calves are born. The large herds migrate to the western Serengeti where they cross the Grumeti River around the month of June. In August - September, large quantities of animals arrive on the plains of the Masai Mara.
Untamed Travelling follows the migration closely. Let us know where and when the migration is located. We'd love to book the best accommodation for you, so you don't have to miss out on the migration during your stay in the Serengeti or masai mara.
