Dancing Sifakas and the mysterious Aye aye
Your very authentic adventure begins in remote corner of Madagascar, the extreme south where rainfall is particularly low. Flora and fauna have been equipped by evolution to endure long periods of drought. In Berenty Reserve, watch for the "dancing" sifakas as they move along the ground. A drive on dirt roads brings you to your lodge on the Mandrare River, in the heart of a region of spiny forest and giant baobabs. This lodge is a very comfortable base for various activities in nature and surrounding villages. By private charter, you will travel to Maroansetra, a town on the Bay of Antongil that is barely accessible by road. You will then sail in two hours to the Masoala Peninsula where the primary rainforest is still pure and pristine. You will stay here on the beach among the forest, mangrove and sea. The rainforest is briefly yours alone, as chances are you will not meet any other visitors in this unique, very remote nature reserve. With a little luck, on an evening walk you will see the mysterious Aye-aye, a very shy creature. A wondrous apparition in a wonderful place. Where the world can't find you...
Beach stay on the island of Mahé
With your flight to the Seychelles, you'll trade the challenges of the dry, dusty south and the humid climate of Maroansetra for the soothing pleasures of a tropical island.
From a luxury resort on Mahé, you can explore both at sea and on land, as this is the largest island in the Seychelles.
However, the main focus is on the beautiful beaches and the view of the azure sea, a view that never bores.
