Gorillas in the fog
One of the highlights in Rwanda is the Parc National des Volcans. You will take fantastic hikes and, under the guidance of an expert guide, will look for mountain gorillas. These peaceful giants are only living in the wild in a few places on earth.
You follow in the footsteps of Dian Fossy (known from Gorillas in the Mist), who did a years-long study on the behaviour of these great apes. The trips you make are sometimes arduous, over slippery paths, over the flanks of the volcanoes of the Virunga mountain range, but so worth it! In clear weather, you can see the impressive volcanoes from afar. During your walks, enjoy the exuberantly flowering and fairy-tale giant lobelias, hanging mosses and senecios.
