Impressive treks and visiting different tribes
This trip offers you variety, many wonderful treks and encounters with different tribes. The first part of your trip puts you in touch with the Curage, an ethnic group with only nine subgroups. There are differences between them, but their entrepreneurial spirit, openness and tolerance is what binds them. They therefore look nothing like the Mursi, who have a reputation for being rather belligerent. Another interesting strain is the Dorze, which is known for self-built huts of up to fifteen meters high, which in shape are reminiscent of giant beehives but are inspired by the head of an elephant.
Savannas and wild animals
Adventurous camping takes place in Mago National Park, which for the most part consists of savannah. There are no less than 56 species of mammals, including buffalo, giraffes, elephants, Lelwel heartbeasts, leopards, gerenuk's and bucksboks. The green valley around the Omo River is home to a number of pretty villages including Murille and Omorate, near the border with Kenya. The market in Omorate has been one of the most important trading centres for clay products, coffee, grain, jewellery and chewing ledments for centuries, and it is a bustle of interest there. A taste of what to expect at the Awasa fish market, one of ethiopia's largest. To dwell on the Great Rift, a crack in the earth's crust that runs from Lebanon to Tanzania and Malawi. Due to its low location, many lakes have sprung up here and it is a breeding ground for various bird species such as flamingos and white pelicans. With this beautiful nature in your memory, you will return to Addis Ababa, where you can still visit the Merkato.
