Toubkal Ascent

With the arrival of a number of comfortable mountain hotels, it is now possible to explore this beautiful area while hiking without the hardships with which it was previously associated. Ourika Valley and other hiking opportunities
After that, the overnight stays are always particularly comfortable. You will stay in several extremely atmospheric hotels, which are the home base for various short and long walks. From the mountain village of Imlil or from the Ourika Valley - on the edge of the High Atlas - many foot and mule paths lead along lush, irrigated terraces and through apple and walnut orchards to other Berber villages. Life has changed little for centuries; traditional values and hospitality are still very much in evidence.
Beach days in Essaouira
For dessert after the sometimes strenuous hiking days, travel to the coast for a few relaxing days. Lovely swimming and relaxing, maybe even surfing? You can also enjoy the aromatic Moroccan gastronomy here. A well-deserved reward after all your efforts!
Tips & tops Hiking Trip High Atlas - Morocco:
- This hiking trip is for inspiration; the hikes vary in severity. Of course you are the one who decides how light or how heavy the hiking trip should be. We will gladly think along with you to adapt the hiking trip to your wishes and possibilities.
- At least an experienced guide accompanies you during the hikes, as well as porters or mules if necessary. Along the way, meals consist of a picnic or lunch at a Berber family's home. During the Toubkal Ascent a cook will accompany you.
- Overnight stays - except night 2 - in beautiful, luxury hotels such as Kasbah de Toubkal and Kasbah Ourika
- Start of the Toubkal Ascent is in Imlil, you will stay overnight in a mountain hut
- Breathtaking scenery in the High Atlas and sunrise from the summit of Toubkal (4,165m)
- On Day 4, you will do the Targa Imoula Trekking and walk from Imlil to Mzik
- On Day 5 you will do the North Trekking to the pass of Tizi n'Tamatert and take an exploratory walk around your new accommodation
- From Kasbah Ourika take a day hike at altitude that focuses more on nature, and walks to various villages, gardens and markets
- On the way to Essaouira, make a stop in Agafay Desert, where you can take a ride on a dromedary through the sand dunes
