On safari in Pendjari National Park
You will be introduced to three special countries in West Africa: Burkina Faso, Benin and Togo. From the dry Sahel to the lush coconut palms on the coast and then back through the tropical forests of Togo. You will get acquainted with the culture and meet various population groups such as the nomadic Pod and the Somba. In pendjari national park (Benin) you go on safari, looking for lions, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, cheetahs, wild dogs, baboons and the roan antelope. At the sacred waterholes (Divouni and Bali) you have a good chance of encountering these wild animals. At the Tanougou Falls you can take a refreshing dip and rinse off all the dust. When you then drive to the middle of Benin, an open and flat country, you can see the impressive hills of Save and Dassa from a long way.
The ancient palaces of Abomey
During the walks you take in the tropical Klouto Forest you will pass through small villages and along coffee, cocoa and pineapple plantations. A visit to the ancient palaces of kings in Abomey (Benin) is also one of the highlights of this tour. Since 1985, the palaces have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A contrast to the lively Cotonou, with its huge market where you can really find everything. When you then drive back to Burkina Faso you visibly approach the Sahel, the vegetation quickly decreases.
