Land of a thousand hills
Rwanda, also called the 'Land of a Thousand Hills' has a beautiful landscape of rolling hills, tropical mountain rainforests, beautiful lakes and typical African savannahs. You would almost forget that not so long ago this country was the scene of large-scale genocide. You will certainly think about this trip a number of times, such as when visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Other special moments will be experienced at Parc National des Volcans, where with a bit of luck you will see the mountain gorillas and spend some time with them. The ascent of the wooded slopes of the Virunga volcano on the way to these friendly giants is already a magical experience in itself.
