Usangu and Katavi: rugged and little visited
The pristine natural wealth of southern Tanzania is relatively little visited, even though there is unlikely beauty here. By shared charter, you will travel to the heart of the various game parks, for extensive safaris and boat rides in the true wilderness.
East Africa's largest elephant populations live in Ruaha National Park, which they share with large lion families of sometimes more than 20 individuals. Silently the troop gathers near the river's edge, where impala, large kudu and waterbuck must come to drink sooner or later. Every second the prey animals remain alert, ready to flee for their lives. Remember to breathe through as this spectacle unfolds before your eyes. Even deeper south is Usanga Game Reserve, where the wetlands are a haven for numerous bird species.
In Katavi National Park, you will be among the lucky few to visit this extremely pristine part of Tanzania. Spot lions, wild dogs and leopards. Marvel at the many dozens of hippos living close together in muddy pools, awaiting the new rains.
End your trip in the restful bliss of the island of Zanzibar or Pemba. Where the world can't find you...
