Luxury lodge in Bwindi rainforest
Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is located in the southern part of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, tucked deep in the mountainous rainforest. It has fantastic views of no less than three volcanoes. The lodge, set up with the aim of protecting these special animals, is located in the habitat of the mountain gorillas. The ten comfortable and spacious cottages are built of volcanic rock and each have a sitting area with fireplace, spacious bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Before bed, you can enjoy a nice glass of wine by the crackling fire in your warm, cosy room.
Bwindi National Park is home to about 330 mountain gorillas and it is the only forest in Africa where gorillas and chimpanzees live side by side. Starting point and finish of your mountain gorilla trekking are the lodge. These draws typically last more than four hours. There are also excursions in search of the other primates, herds of forest elephants, butterflies and birds. After a day of adventure you can relax in the library with a good book and a delicious cup of tea. In the evening, tasty meals are served prepared with local ingredients.
The lodge has a well-chosen name; from the first sight on the breathtaking view you will feel like you are on top of the world.
