Safari lodge in granite rocks
The original Camp Amalinda is located in a former old hideaway of the Bushmen and lies totally integrated between granite rocks of the mystical Matobo Hills. Seven individual reed-covered chalets and two bridal suites are connected by a stone staircase, wild fig trees and acacia's. Photos from the colonial past, polished floors with carpets, leather and teaken furniture make for a pleasant safari atmosphere. In some rooms, wooden cabinets from a bygone era are placed at the foot of the bed, in others a large ottoman. From the balcony you have great views over the spectacular scenery.
Following in the footsteps of C.J. Rhodes
Take an open 4x4 vehicle or horseback through the wild environment in search of warthog, zebra, cliff jumper, kudoe, impala, wildebeest, diver, ibex and even leopard. Or follow the white rhinoceros on foot under the guidance of an experienced guide through the open terrain, an unforgettable safari experience! Follow in the footsteps of C.J. Rhodes and discover the granite hills before visiting his world-famous tomb. In the heat of the day you will find cooling by the large pool with sunbeds or in the Heritage Spa; dream away while old African scents swirl through the room. Enjoy a nice glass of wine from the on-own "cave" wine cellar as the sun sinks red behind the rocks. Delicious meals are served on a massive teak table in the open air dining room.
Camp Amalinda is an inspired retreat with world-class facilities combined with the spiritual energy, allure and unique beauty of Matobo Hills.
