Small-scale, luxury tented camp
On the banks of Mashuma Pan, the luxury tented camp blends into its surroundings.
Canvas tents and wooden decks, organic shapes and sheltering colors hide in the shade of large trees.
The interior is then surprisingly cheerful in color, a tasteful combination of modern and African design.
The tents are spacious and furnished with multiple seating areas, both indoors and outdoors.
Everything is oriented to the surroundings; even from your bed you look out over the waterhole.
This is where animals pass a short distance away, as if they want to take a moment to see who has settled under the cluster of trees before refresh themselves in the water.
You can watch from your private plunge pool or bathtub how elephants drink and bathe, how impalas are always a bit nervous around the water, and how giraffes drink in a wide spread position.
The pristine wilderness of Mana Pools
From Molori Mashuma, you will take game drives and foot safaris into the pristine wilderness of Mana Pools National Park.
There are several water holes and the Zambezi River in particular is home to many hippos and crocodiles.
On land, look out for elephants, buffalo spotted hyenas, honey badgers, lions, leopards and many species of antelope.
With luck, you will also see cheetahs and wild dogs.
Back at camp - with a sundowner and a tasty apetizer in hand - enjoy the sunset.
It is the time when guinea fowl seek their roost higher up with much noise.
When peace returns, a few hyenas come - very quietly - to drink.
They sniff the scent of the surroundings, watch the lights and campfire of Molori Mashuma for a moment, and then they disappear into the night. Where the world can't find you...
