ADVENTUROUS JUNGLE TREKS
Gunung Leuser National Park is one of two places in the world to spot the orangutan in the great outdoors. Did you know that the DNA of an orangutan is 96.5% the same as that of humans? They are very intelligent and think and feel just like us. With a ranger, trek into the damp and dense jungle and look out for orangutans, as well as spot white and black gibbons, Thomas leaf monkeys, macaques, tigers, elephants, Sumatran rhinos, leopards, cobras and more than three hundred different bird species. Thanks to this huge biodiversity, it is one of the most important protected areas in the world.
RAINFOREST WITH WATERFALLS AND HOT SPRINGS
Tangkahan is a hidden jungle paradise tucked away in the dense rainforest surrounded by palm oil and rubber plantations, blue-green rivers with waterfalls and hot springs. The authentic village is home to local elephant keepers who have developed a close relationship with their elephants. They strive for a safe habitat for the intriguing animals.
