HUGE DRAGONS AND PINK BEACHES
With its terrifying large teeth, sharp claws and huge tail, the komodo dragon is a fascinating sight. But the Komodo National Park has more: clear blue water with a magnificent coral, a protected nature reserve with mangrove that is home to special animals such as flying dogs, macaques, deer, wild horses and buffaloes and countless bird species. The island of Komodo of the same name, together with the islands of Rinca and Padar and numerous other smaller islands, belongs to the entire Komodo national park. There are beautiful beaches and nature is unimaginably beautiful. Superlatives fall short. There are very few people and there are hardly any villages. A striking phenomenon is the pink beaches created by an abundance of red coral off the coast.
Komodo National Park is one of the best diving areas in the world. The rich marine life includes manta rays, various species of sharks, barracudas, sea turtles, octopuses and smaller fish such as frogfish, seahorses and the wunderpus.
