Authentic in the middle of nature
At the Tugetsokyo Bridge, the boat awaits you. At a leisurely pace you leave the city, the traffic noise disappears into the background and deviates from rustling trees and singing birds. On the jetty you will be met, Hoshinoya welcomes you with a slight bow.
This resort was originally the spacious country residence of a wealthy businessman from Kyoto. The atmosphere of a bygone era has been beautifully preserved, thanks to the tastefully executed modernization. Hushed, modest decorations allow the attention to be directed outwards, towards the colourful surrounding nature. All rooms and suites have a large window overlooking the river and landscaped gardens. They are idyllic paintings, which colour along with the seasons.
In this wonderful setting you can look forward to a gastronomic feast. A multitude of small dishes are composed with the utmost care. Savour the aromatic works of art, based on classical Japanese cuisine, but with a contemporary twist.
As the silence of the night descends, you will discover the special light play of the indoor lamps. The atmosphere is nostalgic and soothing. It is hard to imagine you being so close to that great metropolis of Kyoto.
