Myanmar's main city
Putao,Myanmar's northernmost city, can only be reached by domestic flight. Upon arrival, enter a desolate plain that is bordered by forests and mountains. Stand still for a moment, look around you. In the background, the snowy peaks of the Eastern Himalayasshine. Putao is the most important city, but with the look of a provincial town. Tourists rarely come here. Everything feels different.
A luxury lodge is the comfortable port from which you can undertake various activities. Open up all the senses on walks through the fresh landscape. You pass bamboo forests, cross rivers via suspension bridges, and along the bank of a Nam Plak creek you descend for a lazy picnic.
In the many villages along the route you will be greeted by Lisu and Kachin, mountain peoples who live only the isolated north. Roll up the trouser legs, and step into the river to learn how to win gold here in a traditional way. Or join the great water spectacle when elephants are washed in the river.
In a raft you can descend part of the Nam Lang River. That promises a wonderful trip of a few hours, or do you opt for a two-day trip with a camping night in the middle of nature? The warm bath of the lodge waits patiently for your return...
