Tips & tops of Round trip Gobi and Altaj by 4x4:
- Outside Ulaan Bataar, a statue honoring Mongolian world ruler and national folk hero Dzhengis Khan has been erected. The 40-meter high steel statue of him on horseback symbolizes his return home after a successful battle. Climb the statue for a phenomenal view of the area and scan the horizon towards the East. Do you see in the distance the image of his mother waving to him?
- Khongoryn Els are among Mongolia's largest and most spectacular sand dunes and are known as the singing dunes because of the almost howling sound when the wind whistles through the fine sand
- Try your luck at Bayanzag - one of the world's largest dinosaur cemeteries - in searching for fossil remains and stay until sunset when the red sandstone cliffs turn into 'Flaming Cliffs'
- Only on foot will you reach the isolated Bear Valley; no roads lead to the paradisiacal waterfalls, white streams and crystal clear lakes surrounded by green snow-capped mountains
- The remote trekking walhalla Altai Tavan Bogd National Park extends south of the massif of the same name and includes the magnificent twin lakes Khoton Nuur and Khurgan Nuur, the sources of the Khovd Gol
- Learn Kazakh traditions and customs firsthand and live the nomadic life during your stay at the Tsengel Khairhan
- Tavanbogd means "The Sacred Five" and refers to the five highest peaks of the awe-inspiring snow-capped massif where you will take an improbable 11-kilometer trek
- The Anokhin National Museum preserves the 2,500-year-old mummy of the "Altaj princess" found by the Novosibirsk expedition archaeologist Natalia Polosmak in 1993, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in recent times
- In the village of Boochi, spend time with local Altaic families and explore local archaeological sites such as tombs and petroglyphs
