At the beginning of your trip, stay several nights in Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon. This makes it pleasant to 'land' figuratively, and to get used to the warm climate of the south. However, the immersion in the culture and nature of the vast country starts immediately. The tropical zone is far behind you when you arrive in Hanoi. The cool climate of the mountains is in stark contrast to the heat during the first days of your trip. - The rural environment of Tay Ninh is particularly picturesque. Hidden from view are the Cu Chi tunnels. You can descend into this to get an idea of the circumstances in which the Viet Cong guerrilla was fighting.
- Wander through the Mekong Delta by traditional boat. At Cai Be's floating market, hundreds of fully loaded boats come together. A visual spectacle!

- The glory days of the Champa kingdom in My Son lie in a distant, distant past. Monuments of red brick barely stood the test of time. Brave plants find a foothold in the broken walls.
- In a cyclo pedicab you sit ringside, front, with free views to all sides. The imperial monuments of the city of Hue pass by at a leisurely pace.
- The refined flavors of culinary Hue are considered the best cuisine in all of Vietnam. Hue's 'Imperial Kitchen' adds to that. Delicious dishes with sounding names are served exuberantly: cucumbers become dragons, pineapples mythical birds.
- Pet a turtle! The 'Temple of Literature' in Hanoi houses many stone sculptures, including a long line of turtles with stèles on their backs. When students go to an exam, they stroke the head of such a turtle. That brings happiness and wisdom.
- The village of Duong Lam seems to come straight out of a picture book. Centuries-old houses of laterite, narrow streets, vistas... really a picture!
- Special costumes and a beautiful, mountainous environment can be found in Sapa. The temperature is pleasant, put on your walking shoes and trek through villages and valleys.
- Your trip ends languidly and fulfilled on a cruise ship. Innumerable karst formations reflect in the waters of Ha Long Bay.
