Meeting with the Wisent
In a far corner of Poland, bordering White Russia, you will find the last remaining primeval forest in the lowlands of Europe. Ancient trees grow together here in a huge variety of habitats, making it recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve and world heritage site. The Białowieża National Park is home to hundreds of rare species of birds, insects and mushrooms. The most unique thing about Białowieża is that it is the world's last refuge for the Wisent, the European bison and the largest land mammal on our continent. Set out with licensed guides and take walks to spot wolves, lynx, beavers, bison, and unusual birds such as whiteback or three-legged woodpeckers, pygmy owl, or rare fly catchers. Experience the breathless nature of Białowieża!
