Picturesque villages between the hills
The Cotswolds should certainly not be skipped during a visit to the UK. The Romans left all their traces here. The particularly atmospheric small towns were created in the Middle Ages by the wool trade. Stroll through villages with Beatrice Potter-like cottages and gardens. Beautiful churches are everywhere. Some are still in use, others are ruins with abandoned cemeteries that stimulate the imagination.
You will discover the Cotswold during beautiful walking tours through the landscape. Venture out by bike through a landscape filled with beautiful hills along estates and gardens. We think Bibhury is one of the most beautiful Cotswolds villages. This village maintained by the National trust is full of old fairy-tale little houses. Other villages you should definitely not miss are Chipping Camden or Broadway, another superb village with cottages with beautiful facades decorated with half-timbered. Admire the nice antiqueshops and be sure to pay a visit to one of the many castles in the region. From the town of Stroud you can take a nice walk along the stray path along the Cotswold Canals.
