Islands along the reef
The hundreds of paradise coral islands off the coast (cayo's, cayes) are part of the enchantingly beautiful Belize Barrier Reef. The best known are Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker. Ambergris is the largest island in Belize with the nice town of San Pedro as a tourist city. South of Ambergris Caye is the island of Caye Caulker, something smaller with a more 'laid back' atmosphere. Also here is the motto: Go slow!
