Highlights of Brazil
Brazil's vast area, Portuguese heritage and African influences make this country the outlier in South America. Brazil is a world unto itself. The largest tropical rainforest in the world, the Amazon , covers a third of the country. South of the Amazon is the largest wetland in the world, the Pantanal, known for its rich fauna. This is without a doubt the best place to get up close to the wildlife of the rainforest and swamps and the chance to spot the king of the forest, the jaguar. In this immense country you will also find some exceptional natural phenomena such as the dune area of the Lençois Maranhenses, the table mountains at Chapada dos Guimarães and the immense waterfalls of Iguaçu . Combine a nature trip with swinging Rio de Janeiro and visit one of the many colonial cities such as Salvador de Bahia , Recife or small Paraty. Perhaps the most important asset of Brazil is the extroverted population with their football, carnival and samba and an absolute lack of bad mood!
