Rainforest in Colombia
Tayrona national park is without a doubt the Caribbean natural paradise of Colombia and one of the most beautiful nature reserves in South America. It protects a pristine rainforest that stretches along the Caribbean coast and offers plenty of walking opportunities and relaxation. Several nature trails run through the forest and connect the exotic bays. Enjoy golden beaches with palm trees. On the trails in the forest you can observe the rich animal life of the park and some bays offer excellent snorkeling opportunities.
Archaeological site El Pueblito
In this area the Tayrona culture was created, where there are still some archaeological sites to visit, the main El Pueblito. This partly rain- and cloud forest-clad mountain range is the homeland of the Kogi Indians, the direct descendants of the Tayrona. Here you will find the most imaginative archaeological site of Colombia, Ciudad Perdida, the lost city. The strong trek to the site is, next to the Inca Trail, known as one of the classic treks in South America.
