Villa de Leyva is a colonial town about 3.5 hours drive north of Bogota. Villa de Leyva is considered one of the most beautiful colonial places in Colombia. It has many sights including the imposing Plaza Mayor. There are atmospheric restaurants and shops where handmade artefacts are sold. Most of the streets in the center are made of the same kind of stones as from colonial times.
