Paradisiacal beaches
On the northern rugged coast of the Pacific Ocean on the Nicoya Peninsula you will find beautiful bays with some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The seawater has a pleasant temperature all year round and you can swim, snorkel, dive and surf here or just enjoy the paradise beach. Tamarindo is one of the beautiful beaches and is located in the national park Marino Las Baulas, founded to protect the leatherback turtles (baulas) that come to nest here on the beaches. In the mangrove forest near Tamarindo there are caimans, crocodiles, iguanas and land crabs. The dense forests on the coast teem with exotic birds and you regularly hear the deafening call of the howler monkeys.
