San Salvador

San Salvador is the capital of El Salvador. It is home to more than 2 million people, one-third of the country's total population, making it the second largest city in Central America. In the early 20th century, San Salvador was a tourist attraction: with its 30,000 inhabitants and beautifully preserved architecture, it was an open and attractive colonial town. However, due to the various earthquakes and the massive population growth, an important part of this attraction has been lost, but a visit is still more than worth it. The cathedral, the national palace and the national theatre are impressive monuments.
