Mysterious lines in the desert
Before 1939, no one had heard of the small town of Nazca south of Lima, until the North American scientist Paul Kosok flew over the desert area and noticed a large number of lines and geometric figures. About three hundred drawings, carved into the ground, including a monkey, bird, llama and lizard, can be seen from a small plane. It turned out to be one of the most impressive and enigmatic finds of ancient Peru. Even in 2020, a new geoglyph was discovered. The mysterious drawing of a huge feline is about 2,000 years old, according to archaeologists. It is still not clear exactly what the lines mean. Are they part of an astronomical calendar? Or maybe they're alien airstrips after all?
