Highlights of Brazil
You will begin your journey in the city of Foz do Iguaçu,located in the southwestern state Paraná. From here you will visit the world's largest waterfalls (Cataratas do Iguaçu) from both the Brazilian and the Argentinian/Paraquayan side. The most famous is the 'Garanta do Diablo' (throat of the devil). Then, on the fourth day, the famous bird park is on the program, with all its exotic bird species.
Then head to Paratí, one of Brazil's most beautiful colonial villages on the Costa Verde in the middle between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
Bustling Rio de Janeiro is the next destination. In a beautiful 5 hour road trip along the coast you drive to the city of the Cariocas. Once in Rio, the journey continues in open vehicles to the 710-metre-high Corcovado with the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer and Sta Teresa. And of course one of the many favelas is visited, the typical Brazilian slums. In the following days, take city walks through both Rio's historic downtown and Salvador de Bahia de Todos os Santos, the 'Holy Savior of the Most Saints'. In this upper town you can experience countless extras such as an Afro-Brazilian show and a visit to the beach.
