Chachapoyas,
only accessible by mountain roads surrounded by cloud forests. You will find here beautiful ancient ruins of the civilization of the Chachapoyas('people of the clouds'). The most famous of these is Kuélap, an impressive stone fort, built on a rocky mountaintop. The complex is very reminiscent of the famous Machu Picchu near Cuzco. The views are fantastic.
