Cougars in Chile and jaguars in Brazil
This tour takes you to the best places in South America to spot the rare cougars and jaguars. First, you will travel to Torres del Paine,Chile, where the cougar's hunting ground is located in the eastern part of the park. This area is known to contain one of the highest concentration of cougars in the wild. Then you'll travel to the vast marshland of the Pantanal, Brazil, where your stay is 100% dedicated to spotting the jaguar. For the Pantanal, the dry season (August – October) is the best period with the best chance of spotting the jaguar (95%!). For Torres del Paine, early in the season or late in the season, the most likely to spot the cougar (season: October – April) is most likely to occur. October & November for 'the best of both worlds'!

Your stay in the Pantanal
We offer you several options for a stay in the Pantanal. The Araras Lodge offers an extensive menu of activities focused on the special flora and fauna. It is ideal for birdwatchers, you can canoe to your heart's content and there are special walks at sunrise and sunset. You can combine your stay at the Araras Lodge with a stay in Porto Joffre where special boat trips are organised aimed at spotting the jaguar. There is also the Piuval Lodge,an old cattle farm with horses and cows of no less than seven thousand hectares. You can combine your stay at the Piuval Lodge with a stay at the Jaguar Ecological Reserve to complete your nature experience.
