Colonial Culture in Nicaragua
What really sets Nicaragua apart from neighboring Costa Rica are its Spanish-colonial and indigenous culture. Granada and León are colonial gems where you can feast your eyes. Yet the greatest attraction of Nicaragua is probably the charm, authenticity and hospitality of its proud and vibrant inhabitants. However, the country also has very well-preserved natural treasures. You will marvel at the rich bird and wildlife around the Rio San Juan, the beautiful nature at Apayo Lagoon and the Juan Venado Reserve.
