Guatemala is known for colorful festivals and traditions. Catholic All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day (Nov. 1 and 2) are celebrated extensively throughout Central America each year to honor the Saints and commemorate the departed. However, it is by no means a sad affair. A special tradition takes place in Guatemalan Santiago Sacatepequez, the great kite festival in honor of All Saints' Day.
