The Palm blíjft the 'place to be'
During its growth spurt, Dubai not only grew in length, but also in its width. And no one has escaped that. The island in the shape of a palm tree is the largest ever made by humans. A new neighbourhood was built out of the water. With the arrival of this artificial island, Dubai immediately gained many kilometers of extra coast. Very nice for a place where the sun always shines.
But Dubai wouldn't be Dubai if it was satisfied with this. It wanted more. And so came a second palm island and there's even a third on paper. The artificial archipelago 'the world' was also developed. This is located a little further from the coast and in it you can distinguish the contours of the different continents. To date, however, these are little more than piles of sand in the water. So the Palm remains the place to be.
There is also an island for those who have had enough of all this expansionism and the beaches that have been made tired. From the port of Dubai, cruises depart for the island of Sir Bani Yas(Abu Dhabi). This (real!) island is a large nature park. Guests stay at a resort and can explore the island by day with a 4WD.
