EXTRAORDINARY ROADS

The Dempster Highway , one of Yukon's best-kept secrets. This beautiful road takes you through inhospitable areas and breathtaking deserted nature reserves to the harsh north. After the impressive wilderness of Tombstone Territorial Park you drive through permafrost landscapes to Eagle Plains . Take a photo as proof - 'you did the Dempster' by the sign indicating that you have reached the Arctic Circle. Continue and reach Nortwest Territories up to the community of Inuvik or drive all the way to the coast of the Beautfort Sea to Tuktoyaktuk .

Another great way is the Top of the World Highway taking you from Dawson City to Tok, Alaska , brings. First, cross the Yukon River with the free ferry, then start your adventure on this 'off-road' road that winds along the river and beautiful mountain ranges. On its shores are historic sites that recall the time of the Klondike-Alaska Goldrush and archaeological sites, which testify that the first humans lived here as early as 14,000 years ago.

KLUANE NATIONAL PARK & RESERVE

Kluane National Park & Reserve is an impressive area and is home to 17 of the 20 highest mountains in it Canada , with Mount Logan at number one. This is also the highest mountain of North America . An extraordinary experience in a picturesque landscape. In the summer, Kluane comes alive with sunshine, songbirds and wildflowers, but it is also home to ancient ice fields, massive glaciers and mountains. Mountain goats and Dall sheep graze on the steep slopes. Elusive animals such as wolves and lynxes go about their business and grizzly bears search for lovely grass and wild flowers. The chance that you will spot wildlife on the side of the road is high. Or would you rather take to the skies to admire caribou, sheep and bears from above?

Enjoy daylight all summer long, wherever you are in the Yukon. The further north you travel, the longer the days. Over the Arctic Circle, the Yukon midnight sun does not set for weeks. From August to April you can observe a fantastic phenomenon visible all over the Yukon, the northern Lights . These beautiful dancing colors are best seen in a clear sky. It's magical!
