VANCOUVER AND VANCOUVER ISLAND

The journey begins in the metropolis of Vancouver,a cozy city with hip neighborhoods, several restaurants, good shopping opportunities and beautiful city parks of which Stanley Park is the largest. Then take the ferry to Vancouver Island. Explore the exceptional flora and fauna on one of the many walking tours in the Pacific Rim National Park.

There are also several boat trips where you will look for whales, black bears, sea lions and otters. In the MacMillen Provincial Park there are huge Douglas firtrees of no less than 800 years old and with a circumference of nine meters.

FIRST NATIONS AND NATIONAL PARKS

You'll leave Vancouver Island with the Inside Passage,a ferry crossing to Prince Rupert through deep fjords and past green-forested shores. A pristine landscape passes you by and sea eagles float gracefully with the boat. Sometimes even whales show up. In Prince Rupert, it seems as if time has stood still. This region is known for the heritage of the First Nations and in the town you will find old, colourful houses that are sometimes more than a hundred years old. There are also relics from Prince Rupert's history as a railway town and main city for the fishing industry. The Smithers and St. George witnesses to this, too. You follow the prospector route to Williams Lake and Clearwater, the base for Wells Gray Provincial Park with magnificent waterfalls and hiking trails. The trip ends with the Icefields Parkway, one of the most beautiful routes through the
Rocky Mountains
that connects the two Jasper and Banff national parks. Here you will find clear blue lakes, glaciers, rugged mountains, forests and rivers. An absolute must for any nature lover!
